Electro-Optics - Infrared Scene Modeling Engineer

Your responsibilities as a senior level optics engineer will include developing digital scene generation and platform control models for active and passive Electro-Optical phenomena, and applying innovative and emerging technologies to implement real time stimulus environments for product integration and test development. 
Computer In The Loop & Hardware In The Loop (HWIL / CIL) expertise is also important in order to support the entire product integration and test lifecycle, including open and closed-loop software and hardware integration and verification. 

- You will need an active DoD Secret level clearance coming in the door. 

- Must have at minimum a Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or math and 13 years of engineering experience in Hardware-in-the-loop or other real-time simulation testing/integration test environments. A Master’s degree in the same and 10 years of project leadership experience is desired.

The select candidate will understand how to apply knowledge of Electro-Optic critical performance parameters to model, design, integrate, optimize, align, optimize, characterize and/or calibrate, physical and digital components or structures in engineering development environments for all-digital applications, digital injection with production representative hardware and software test assets, and single/multi-axis motion control systems. 

You will also be expected to provide technical leadership to diverse teams, providing technical guidance, subject matter expertise, analysis, task recommendations, while working with the Engineering organization in establishing    technology roadmaps and modernization plans. Candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching/mentoring, and training to other employees across the business within area of expertise.

Requirements:
• Must be a US citizen with an active DoD Secret level clearance 
• Experience in utilization of flight tables and EO scene presentation/injection methodology 
• Experience in multiple cooperative sensor scenarios, including multi-mode (EO+RF) systems 
• Experience with embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Integrity) 
• Development of highly advanced software applications that have resulted in organizational impact 
• Technical research associated with real-time software applications leading to new innovative approaches 
• Expert knowledge in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software for closed loop applications
• An expert level of knowledge and experience with development and architectural design of real-time closed loop systems utilizing 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) simulations 
• Expertise in software, hardware, and firmware integration 
• Expert knowledge in developing multi-threaded/multi-core software 
• Expertise in object oriented development using C++ 
• Expertise in software development for real-time systems using Linux OS 
• Experience with Agile Software development methods and processes
• Linux device driver development for real-time systems 
• Firmware development experience 
• Experience with algorithm development utilizing Graphics Processing Units (GPU)s 
• Patent applications, invention disclosures and/or reviewed publications in applicable technical areas within the past 5 years 
• Continuous improvement of software applications, architectures, and/or processes that result in product and process improvement 
• Demonstrated willingness and engagement of troubleshooting and analytical skills to solve complex problems
• Prior experience conducting trade studies and performance analysis 
• Practical work experience assessing technical, developmental, and execution risks to performance objectives and experience in communicating status to business and program leadership 
• New business capture experience including contribution or authoring of white papers, competitive proposal’s technical volumes and growth strategies 
• Experienced with I/O (PCI/PCIe, D/A, A/D, 1553, Digital I/O, Sync/Async serial) Desired Skills 
• Vast experience and broad knowledge of industry (commercial) real-time test solutions 
• Ability to prioritize multiple efforts and redirect focus in a moment’s notice 
• Mentoring of junior and senior hardware in the loop engineers 
• Excellent time management and organizational skills 
• Excellent communication skills required to convey technical concepts to varying audience members
